New Way of Democracy..

The other day I was watching a reality show on TV where the participants were begging for votes to save themselves from being eliminated.  The same episode also showed  the mind boggling number of votes one of the contestants had won and that led me to thinking…in a country where the government is chosen by us, a country which is the largest democracy in the world, why only less than half of its voting population go out of their homes to cast their vote?  We don’t practice our political right  to choose a leader for our country. We leave the most important decision of finding the country’s leader in the hands of a selected few who are most of the time coaxed into voting a certain party because the so called leader belongs to their village, caste, community or has promised something big for them and I was wondering, when it comes to voting for reality shows then people sms their votes as if they are going to win a prize for voting.
Why is that?

I feel the way we choose our leader and our electoral system really need to change because we, as people of this country especially the youth,  have changed dramatically. Our lives have changed and lifestyles have changed too.  Finding few hours to reach a polling booth, stand in a que and cast our votes is something we find difficult to adjust in our lifestyle. We live a very fast world where information travels at a speed of light, where we dream of fast internet,  fast cars and short cuts because at the end of the day,  24 hours also seem very short with all the things that we have to manage, be it at home, at work, in personal or in social life. So much so that we do not even get time to see a friend on his birthday party but  rather prefer wishing him on Facebook. We socialize on social networking sites, we read online rather than sitting in a library and we vote using our cell phones for the reality shows. So why not use the same media for election campaigning and voting? Why can’t the political parties start discussing their manifesto, their goals on social networking sites like  Twitter, Facebook and start blogging.  There are off course  many political parties who are waking up to this revolution which only proves one point that new media is a very powerful tool especially to reach the youth of urban India and the political parties realize that to really create an impression on us they need to be one of us who we can also relate to.

Democracy and the way we choose our leaders need to adapt to the changing times if the parties need urban votes also along with the rural votes.  We may not find time to venture out to vote but that does not mean that we are unwilling, we only need a platform which is more accessible to us for voting. I think just like they have in the reality shows, we should also be give an option where we can Twitter, sms, call in to cast our votes and be equally responsible and committed in choosing the face of new India via new media.

lOst in tRansLatiOn!!..!!

I hated writing essays. In exams, I used to attempt essays in the last few minutes because then I could scribble some nonsense in a hurry. I hated wren and Martin.
I used to question “ The purpose of a language is to communicate your thoughts, feelings, right? Why all the stupid grammar rules?”
I never got satisfactory marks in grammar section, as I used to write with my lousy grammar, mixing up all the tenses and communicating everything wrong. Ofcorse that red line and 4/10 marks helped me put things right.
“This sentence is wrong, first part is in present tense, second part is in past tense, so is this one? You need to correct them.” and a Tight slap!! Huh!!
And this slap helped me not to participate in Extempore competition.
I can’t deny that I used to stammer a lill while speaking, but seriously that translation part was also not clear and wide enough to explain ur thoughts orally.

Seriously, I was lost in translation till the college ended.
For the first time in my life, I started learning English grammar! I started urbandictionary and google instead of C++ and Java.

If someone of our age used to write some stuff, I always used to question them ‘ki tum log ye sab likhte kaise ho’ sochte kahan se ho….(seriously I have done that).

I am here neither for a night walk, nor am I prowling here. In this dead pitch, there is no need to think about the stock market, education plans or future plans. I am substantially rich and luckily enough. Neither I have received any threatening calls from my enemies nor am thinking like Mahatma Gandhi to lay down ‘My Experiments with Truth’.

I think, Everyone of us is typical/unusual in one’s own world of certainties and uncertainties. What is more important is to have individuality, no matter what it costs for it to be so.

But often we fail to behave as humans. We have become so selfish and corrupt that we hardly give importance to the existence of other human beings. We love to earn lakhs, but never compute how many times we might have found ourselves thankless.
We try not to blame others, but we generaaly forget that we are the only reason for this happening. As a consequence, we need a curtain-raiser for ourselves, or a trustworthy person who can really tell us the reality of this grim world.

I am so deeply lost in life translation that I bore you people with my aimless chatter…

Now, I think writers don’t write because they can write. They write when they find viability in the world of humans and technology and this viability directly comes from beautiful people and beautiful things.
For beautiful things, I am grateful to Nature, which has managed to keep the wonders of the world happening.
And for beautiful people, I simply congratulate all the freat Moms who have produced some personalities like leaders, the actors and actress of bollywood (ye na hote to pata nahi kya hota), and many more..

However, I have no wrong intensions in stating that one of them was my batchmate too, having tempting dimples in her cheeks and a lustorous smile, naah not ponytails at the back.

Our minds...!!

I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world … without you. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries; a world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.

Yeah. Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I may have a better one. How about, I give you the finger and you give me your whole hand.

What is real? How do we define real? If we're talking about what we can hear, what we can smell, taste and feel, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by our brain.

Simply our Heart is a system. That system is our enemy. But when we're inside, we look around, what do we see? Friends, colleagues, Love, Career etc. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. We have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Obviously, sooner or later we're going to realize, that there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

I'm trying to free my mind. But, is this the desert of Real?

Let me attempt to describe this. No amount of imagination can prepare you for what you experience there.

What if when you woke up, you didn't know the difference between the dream world, and the real world?

There are fields, endless fields where we are no longer born; we are grown. We rise up, the field stretching in every direction to the horizon, ‘we have everyone around, we have everyone!! but when we have no one, we have no one with us not even our brains.. :-|

Source: The very first para of this post are some lines of the movie Matrix. Yeah, again ‘kahani poori filmy aur farzi hain’.
But, what to do I wanted to change the taste in every post…bt…bt..bt kuch likhne ko hi nahi milta..
Again, so many thanx to someone, who helped me to finish with that descent line.
