It’s 1 am in the morning. Droopy eyes and a super tired body of mine are hinting that I should probably hit the bed. But after thinking that everything moves so fast why won’t this moment last? I cannot hold myself back.
With a glass of Bournvita Filled Hot Milk beside me and my up- and –barking dogs, I have decided that I have to pen down my thoughts about the year which is about to end. ‘The year that was’nt’.!!
Yes I know I am sounding like one of those old men who sit on park benches and complain or rail against the system.
Randomely compiling Thoughts and Wannabe Trends this year…..
- As the year comes to an end, if we look back and we’ll found the most Innovating Technology of 2011, I am sure the Google will also Display Result ‘Anna Hazare’..!!
The Second Freedom Struggle: We are 20-something. Our knowledge of Gandhi-ism comes from Munnabhai. Our idea of political struggle is inspired by Rang De Basanti. We consider ourself apolitical because “all politicians are crooks.” We think we can live in peace with
So far, it’s fine. Not that I like it. But it’s fine.
But then we decide to call this “
But Just Imagine If the first freedom struggle was about rock-concerts, theme songs, one-day cutey “de-tox” fasts, and a half-drunk actor and a honest management guru fulminating on stage….then we have no idea. Not that I would not dare attempt to tell you what it was, but it consisted of lives torn, 1 year or two year in dark cells on islands (as we have seen in movies like Bhagat Singh or Shaheed) and sacrifice of the type none of us would dare to understand. Not that we need to either.
The point though remains. Do we really need to think that this is the “second freedom struggle”. In any way, We can argue till the cows come home about everything else about this whole Lok Pal thing, but can we agree on this? Please?
We don’t have to make our decisions based on the expectations of others. We have to live with this system, not with the others.

The title sounds little weird and so does the blog. It can be a source of annoyance too, but trust me you will agree upon it.. 'Caption Obvious' Here states....
All that begins must come to an end, or at least change into something else. It is inevitable, Right?
Why, then do goodbyes take us by surprise? Why is it so difficult to let go... to cope with change?
All of us use labels. We label things, We label places, We label memories and experiences. But most often, we label people. Not everyone supports the words though.
I have been thinking about it. In a way, labels make life more convenient. For instance, if I label someone I know as 'outspoken, but good at heart', I would know better than to take offence at every little thing they say. If I label a person as 'selflessly helpful', I know who to go to when I need a favour. Quite convenient, no? No. Because we end up labelling not only people we know, but also ones we barely have any clue about.Labeling the Present year...
A week later If you ask me, how was the year that went by? My reply would be - Good and bad in bits and parts. :) In 2010 I grinned and said 'quite awesome!'. Like the child who burns his hand, yells his lungs out and then forgets it all as soon as he sees a bar of chocolate, I would forget the lows and stick to my reply. The 2011 for me is not an improved version at all. Life is still all chillu types and I still think that there is a silver lining behind the darkest of clouds. But yes, I learned diplomacy. So the year was a mixed bag of sorts.
Like I said, its been a good and a bad year in bits and parts. I will choose to remember the times that I smiled. I will hope to learn from the mistakes I made. I will make in the happiness and I will forget the tears. For those I hurt, I am sorry. For those I loved, I am all mush. Live with it. For those I shouted at, it was just a moment. Never meant it. For those I forgot, call me and tell me I'm a jerk. For those I call friends, thank you. For everything.
This post marks the beginning of the third.
We can argue till the cows come home on the point of living this system also... decision on this point (i guess on all points) are always based on the expectations of others either ornery or paradoxical (ummm.. may be reconcilable or sth else) ..
ReplyDeleteYou are right ... it doesn't need a thought that it is the "secong freedom struggle" ..
It is the first struggle of freedom(although i object this is not the 1st struggle of freedom).. if we are calling the our independence as the first struggle of freedom (gandhian lead freedom struggle was not STRUGGLE OF FREEDOM it was struggle of power SATTA..).
Going on mythological way(may be sounding like one of those old men who sit on park benches).. if "Indian Palm Squirrel" can put sand to beget the bridge over an ocean.. wearing a white T-shirt ( cap or whatever) is (has to be) benign.
